TS-12 Musician’s Manual Section 5 — Preset/Track Parameters
9
For example, it may be useful to turn off sustain events on a track set up as a bass sound in a split
keyboard configuration. This allows you to play staccato bass lines on the lower part of the
keyboard while playing chords on the upper part of the keyboard and using the sustain pedal.
The bass notes will not be affected by the sustain pedal because the track is set to OFF, but the
chords will sustain.
Sustain Pedal Off events are always transmitted via MIDI (except if track status is set to ---/RECV
or MIDI-OFF) whenever the Sustain Pedal Enable switch setting on the track is changed. This is
done to ensure that external MIDI devices are not left with the sustain pedal controller “stuck” in
the held down state.
Press the Controllers On/Off button again to get to the Sostenuto page:
Sostenuto Page Range: OFF or ON
The Sostenuto Page, similar to the Sustain page, allows you to determine whether each of the
individual tracks will respond to sostenuto controller events. The effect of all sostenuto events,
whether from the SW-2 Foot Switch (when the corresponding foot switch is set to SOSTENUTO
on the System page) or sostenuto commands received from MIDI, is controlled by this switch.
ON — sostenuto events will affect all notes played within the active key zone for this track.
OFF — sostenuto events will have no effect on the notes played on this track.
Sostenuto Pedal Off events are always transmitted via MIDI (except if track status is set to
----/RECV or MIDI-OFF) whenever the Sostenuto Pedal Enable switch setting on the track is
changed. This is done to ensure that external MIDI devices are not left with the sostenuto pedal
controller “stuck” in the held down state.
Press the Controllers On/Off button a third time to get to the Pitch Bend page:
Pitch Bend Page Range: OFF or ON
The Pitch Bend Page is used to determine which track(s) will respond to the Pitch Bend
Controller.
