12.14 EXAMPLE 3, 1D TRUNK CONNECTION TO 802.1Q VLAN
NETWORK
This example illustrates the use of a 1D Trunk to connect a device to a network of 802.1Q VLAN
switches.
In this example, a merger has taken place between the companies in the previous example, Redco
and Blue Industries. The two companies have become divisions within a single corporation, Green
Incorporated.
As illustrated in Figure 12-18, a third group of stations, the Green Incorporated staff, is added to
the facility. Also, the Green Incorporated Network Administrators want to add a Mail Server to the
network on the first floor.
