3) Remove bit retaining ring
and chuck from the drill bit.
4) Push the control tube out from the chuck side with a long bar,
lift the control tube out and make sure both lower and upper
buffer are in place.
5) Remove the cover, check the
disc spring and o-rings for wear
and damages, replace if
needed.
6) Remove buffers from the control tube. Inspect the buffers,
replace if worn or damaged. Inspect the control tube for wear or
cracks specially around the holes, replace if cracks are found.
7) Remove valve body with check valve and spring. Inspect check
valve seal and spring for wear, replace if needed.
8) Remove bit bushing, normally bushing can be taken out by
hand, otherwise press out the bushing with a long bar from the
backhead side and pull the bit bushing out from the chuck side.
8) Push the piston out from the
chuck side with a long bar, lift
the piston out.
CAUTION Weight of piston
COP M6 17,4 kg (38.3 lbs.),
COP M7 37.4 kg (82.5lbs.),
COP M8 44.9 kg (99 lbs.).
9) Complete disassembled COP M6.
Reassembly of COP M Series hammers
1) Inspect and measure the piston, check for wear or cracks, re-
place if cracks are visible. Lubricate the piston inside and outside
and casing internally with Rock tool oil. Install piston from the
backhead side of casing.
2) Place the lock ring in place by using a brass or mild steel bar
and hammer.
