3) Inspect the bit bushing for
wear or cracks. Lubricate the bit
bushing with oil and place it in
to the chuck side of the
hammer. Knock the bushing in
with a brass punch. Observe,
the o-ring must be down to the
chuck side of the hammer.
4) Lubricate the splines on the drill bit with thread grease. Install
the driver chuck and bit retaining ring on to the drill bit with the
thicker side of retaining ring facing upwards. Install the complete
unit to the hammer, smear the chuck thread with thread grease
and tighten by hand.
5) Clean the disc springs using a piece of cloth and check for
cracks and damage. Lubricate the discs with grease and assemble
them in the right sequence.
6) Lubricate and assemble the
cover and control tube. Lube
the cover unit and the control
tube with COP oil. Push the
control tube and cover from
backhead side. Using a rod
makes it easier to fit the control
tube into the piston.
7) Lubricate the backhead thread with tread grease, tighten back-
head assembly by hand.

At least 6–10 mm greater than the diameter of the casing.
