Wipe lint, dust, and adhered ink using a brush or
soft cloth that has been soaked in water and
squeezed well.
Carefully remove lint and dust stuck in the
groove of the platen.

Wipe off the media holding plates using a soft
cloth that has been soaked in water.

Important:
When media with glue has been used, wipe
away glue using a diluted neutral detergent. If
glue from the media adheres to the rear side of
the plates, it may result in the print head
striking during printing.
Sliding media holding plates
Normally, wipe off any lint and dust that has
attached to the surface, without removing the
media holding plates.
When self-adhesive media is used or ink has
adhered to the surface of the media holding
plates, remove the plates, and wipe stains off both
the front and rear surfaces.
When stains are removed, be sure to attach the
plates to their original positions.
