Optical Switch 75
Solving Common Problems
The dedicated FIP
application now returns
a Fail status for one of
the MPO port
(connector) of my
RTUe-9120 external
switch.
There is at least one
dirty or damaged fiber
inside the MPO
connector.
From the dedicated FIP application,
verify which fibers have a Fail status.
If you have used a 2 x 12
configuration for the inspection, you
can disregard the Fail status of the
four fibers at each end of the
connector as they are not used.
If the sixteen central fibers all have a
Pass status, you can then consider the
whole connector to have a Pass
status.
If some of the eight central fibers
have a Fail status, try cleaning the
connector again (see Cleaning and
Inspecting MPO-Type Connectors on
page 69).
If the problem persists, contact EXFO.
