Important:Thecurvedpartoftheblade
mustbepointingupwardtowardtheinsideof
themowertoensurepropercutting.
2.Holdthebladeendusingaragorthickly-padded
glove(orplaceawrenchonthetopsheavenut).
Applylubricanttothethreadsofthebladebolt
asneededtopreventseizing.Copperbased
anti-seizeispreferable.Greaseisanacceptable
substitute.Installthewasherandbladeboltand
washerassembly.
3.Torquethebladeboltto32-42ft-lb(43-57N-m).
WARNING
Incorrectinstallationofthebladeor
componentsusedtoretainthebladecause
thebladetocomelooseandcouldseriously
injureorkillyouorbystanders.
AlwaysinstalltheoriginalExmarkblades,
washersandbladeboltsasshown.
MowerBeltMaintenance
InspectingtheBelts
ServiceInterval:Every25hours
Checkthebeltsforcracks,frayededges,burnmarks,
oranyotherdamage.Replacedamagedbelts.
ReplacingtheMowerBelt
Squealingwhenthebeltisrotating,bladesslipping
whencuttinggrass,frayedbeltedges,burnmarks,
andcracksaresignsofawornmowerbelt.Replace
themowerbeltifanyoftheseconditionsareevident.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfaceanddisengage
thebladecontrolswitch.
2.Movethemotioncontrolleversoutwardtothe
neutralposition,engageparkingbrake,stopthe
engine,removethekey,andwaitforallmoving
partstostopbeforeleavingtheoperatingposition.
3.Settheheight-of-cutat1-1/2inch(38mm).
4.Removethebeltcoversovertheoutsidespindles.
5.Pulltheidlerpulleyinthedirectionshownin
Figure48androllthebeltoffofthepulleys.

Thespringisundertensionwheninstalled
andcancausepersonalinjury.
