4.1 Mains filters
In order to comply with European Directive 2004/108/EC on Electromag-
netic Compatibility, it is mandatory to insert a mains filter. Particularly, the
standard IEC 61800-3 for category C3 and the standard IEC 61326-3-1
for immunity.
The mains filters of the FAGOR catalog are referred to as MAINS FILTER
xA.
They are installed between mains and the DDS servo system (modular or
compact) in order to reduce conducted disturbances caused by the drive
down to the levels indicated by the standard mentioned earlier and, at the
same time, make it immune to transient over-voltage like bursts or volt-
age pulses.
