2.3.1 Methods of parameterisation
The CPX terminal with field bus node CPX−FB11 can be para
meterised in various ways. The following table provides an
overview of the methods.
Method
Description Advantages Disadvantages
Parameterisation via
the configuration
program (e.g.
RSNetWorx)
The parameters are set
via the configuration
program and trans
mitted directly to the
DeviceNet slave.
Fast, simple para
meterisation during
commissioning for
testing the para
meters
Parameterisation is
saved locally in the
CPX terminal and is
lost when the ter
minal is replaced.
1)
Parameterisation via
the scanner auto
matically after Power
On (configuration
recovery via ADR)
The parameters are set
via the configuration
program and trans
mitted to the scanner.
The parameters are
transmitted by the
scanner after Power On.
Parameters are
loaded again
automatically after
Power On and are
therefore retained if
the CPX terminal is
replaced.
The scanner must
support ADR
(automatic device
replacement).
Parameterisation via
the PLC user program
Parameterisation is
carried out within the
user program in the
PLC/IPC via Explicit
Message".
Parameterisation is

Parameterisation
with the handheld
1)
Parameterisation is
carried out via menu−
listed entries with the
handheld.
Very user−friendly
parameterisation via
menu−guiding (plain
text).
Parameterisation is
saved locally in the
CPX terminal and is
lost if the CPX ter
minal is replaced.

1)
It is possible to copy the current parameter settings with the aid of the handheld.
