3.1Generallocationrequirements
Importantconsiderationswhenchoosingasuitablelocationforyourproduct.
Theproductshouldbemountedwhereitwillbe:
•protectedfromphysicaldamageandexcessivevibration.
•wellventilatedandawayfromheatsources.
Whenchoosingalocationfortheproduct,considerthefollowingpointstoensurereliable
andtrouble-freeoperation:
•Access—theremustbesufcientspacetoenablecableconnectionstotheproduct,
avoidingtightbendsinthecable.
•Centerline—theproductshouldbemountedasclosetoyourvessel’scentrallineas
possibletoprovideasymmetricalviewofallangles.
1.Vessel’scenterline.
•Clearview—theproductshouldhaveaclearviewofthewaterwithminimalobstruction
tothe360°view.
•Electricalinterference—theproductshouldbemountedfarenoughawayfromany
equipmentthatmaycauseinterferencesuchasmotors,generatorsandradiotransmitters/
receivers.
•Magneticcompass—refertotheCompasssafedistancesectioninthisdocument
foradviceonmaintainingasuitabledistancebetweenthisproductandanycompasses
onyourvessel.
•Height—theproductshouldbemountedashighaspractical,givingaclearviewofall
directions.
