3.1.7 Laser Pointer/NULL (shifted function) Switch
WARNING
Class 3b laser product per ANSI Z136.1-2000 is an eye
hazard if directed or reflected beam is viewed. This Laser
Pointer produces an invisible laser radiation that can cause
permanent loss of eyesight. The use of binoculars can
increase this risk. Table 1-5 lists the eye safety limits of the
Laser Pointer. The binocular eye safety range assumes the
specified binoculars; larger lenses will require a greater
safety range. It is the responsibility of the operator to
insure that the target and bystanders are outside the eye
safe ranges. (This warning is only applicable to the optional
laser pointer.)
Laser Pointer – When the Laser Pointer (option) is installed;
the Laser Pointer Switch activates the Laser Pointer. The
Laser Pointer Switch is integrated with a safety interlock system
installed by the buyer that disables the laser except when
specifically required for a mission or purpose.
