1.4.2 Control Electronics Unit (CEU)
The Control Electronics Unit (CEU) provides systems voltages,
stabilization circuits, servo systems, and video processing. The system
computer, which is housed in the CEU, is based on the industry PC/104
standard. Use of this format for the system computer ensures the ability
to upgrade as computer technology progresses. All system input-output
(IO) communications are routed through the CEU. The CEU is equipped
with an hourly time meter that registers the cumulative operating time of
the CEU. The characteristics for the CEU are listed in Table 1-7.

The Hand Control Unit (HCU) is a watertight unit with intuitive switch
arrangement and adjustable backlighting for lights-out or night operation.
