NOTE: 
Gyro NULL is best set with a stationary object when the 
system has been running for 15 minutes.   
NULL (shifted function) – The system must be in Rate Mode for this 
action to be initiated.  Gyro Null will replace Rate Mode on the display.  
In Gyro Null the Strain Gauge is used to manually remove drift from the 
Gimbal.  Once drift is corrected and ball is motionless, press the SHIFT 
Switch and then the NULL Switch to simultaneously lock the null settings 
and return to Rate Mode.  
3.1.8  Az Position Control 
Adjust control to set Azimuth home position. 
Position Mode  Az position controls active; Strain Gauge inactive. 
Rate Mode  Strain Gauge active; Az position control inactive. 
Heading Hold  Strain Gauge active; Az position control inactive. 
3.1.9  El Position Control 
Adjust control to set Elevation home position. 
Position Mode  El position control active; Strain Gauge inactive. 
Rate Mode  Strain Gauge active; El position control inactive. 
Heading Hold  Strain Gauge active; El position control inactive. 
3.1.10  Backlight Control  
This control is used to adjust the level of backlighting on the HCU. 
3.1.11 Power Switch 
The system’s electrical power switch has four positions.   
NOTE: 
The System Power switch activates a power relay’s control 
circuit, which draws a minimum amount of electrical power.  
The power relay removes all electrical power from the 
system computer and other functional control and drive 
circuits.
