6. Application—Cockpit
6.1 Overview and setup & upgrade
Cockpit is the official Flyability application used to pilot the ELIOS 1, ELIOS 2, and ELIOS 3. Cockpit v3.0 and
upwards are only compatible with ELIOS 3 and with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 LTE tablet running Android 12.
Cockpit comes preinstalled on the tablet you purchased with the ELIOS 3.
Cockpit’s primary use is to serve as a way to view the live video feed and the 3D Live Map from the aircraft,
enabling FPV flights. In addition, a dashboard with useful flight and camera telemetry is shown to the pilot.
First-time installation of Cockpit
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Cockpit 3 is developed and tested to work on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 LTE tablet.
GET THE APPLICATION
The Cockpit application is distributed as a standard Android application file (.apk), which is available on our
website.
Using the USB connection of your tablet, copy the APK file to a place you can browse to, using a file explorer on
the tablet. An alternate solution is to copy the file onto an SD card, especially for Mac users.
ALLOW UNKNOWN SOURCES IN ANDROID
- Go to the settings screen on your Android tablet.
- Go to Lock screen and Security.
- Verify that “Unknown sources'' is enabled. A warning may appear about application security concerns.
Acknowledge the warning.
INSTALL THE APPLICATION
Using the file explorer on your tablet, browse to the APK file location you have just copied from your computer.
Tap the file to run the software installer. Some confirmations about access to specific features may appear. You
can acknowledge these notifications without concerns.
