1. ASSET NAME – FLIGHT NAME
The asset and flight naming window records the mission name, and the name of the upcoming flight.
The asset and flight names are visible during post-processing with the Inspector software. Accurately
naming your flights will greatly simplify the post-flight analysis process. We recommend you create
some kind of naming convention for organization, such as “DATE_LOCATION_ASSET_FLIGHTNUMBER”
or whatever data you are interested in recording for each of your flights. Please be aware that the flight
number will be updated automatically by the application.
2. CHECKLIST
This is a short checklist to help you verify that your system is good to fly.
3. SAFETY REMINDER
Flyability recommends the user to wear eye protection, ear protection, and a hard hat while operating
the aircraft. The user MUST have read the aircraft user manual prior to using the system.
4. CONNECTION STATUS
Three icons are displayed at the bottom of the screen during the connection process. From left to right,
these icons represent: the tablet, the remote controller, and the drone. The dotted lines represent the
connection status between each component of the ELIOS 3 system.
Once all components are connected and ready, two options will appear. Those two options are:
- The “FLY NOW” button. Via this option, the user can toggle the camera preview by tapping this button.
- The “MAPPING FLIGHT” toggle. This will allow the user to perform a flight that is compatible with
GeoSLAM. Please know that this requires a longer still period before arming, as ELIOS 3 needs to
execute extra calibration to prepare for a mapping flight. This still period might require 15 seconds
compared to 3 seconds in the standard (i.e., non-mapping) mode.
