21. General
warranty
21.1 Dealer'swarranty
End customers shall be entitled to exercise the
standard warranty claims against the FLYER
Dealer (depending upon the agreement or appli-
cable
law;asaruletwoyearsafterdelivery).
For batteries a residual capacity after two years of
60%oftheoriginalratedcapacityisguaranteed,
provided that the battery has been operated and
charged in accordance with the operating instruc
-
tions.
The
wear and tear of consumable parts (e.g.
tyres, inner tubes, chains, sprockets, brake pads,
paintwork,labels)isnotcoveredbythewarranty.
The end customer shall be responsible for ensur
-
ing
thattheFLYERe-bikeisregularlymaintained
and cared for (including the conduct of all inspec-
tions
accordingtotheoperatinginstructions).
Warranty claims shall also be excluded in the
event that the FLYER e-bike is modied or re-
paired independently or used other than for its
intended purpose: racing and competition, com-
mercial usage, overloading and other use that
does
notreecttheintendedpurpose.
21.2 Manufacturer'sguarantee
ofBiketecAG
a. Warranties
Independently of the warranty rights towards
FLYERdealers,BiketecAGprovidesthefollowing
warranty services to the end customer voluntarily
from the date of purchase for new, fully assembled
FLYERe-bikesforwhichnalassemblyandcali
-
bration
arecarriedoutbyaFLYERdealerrecog-
nised
byBiketecAG:
Frame: 10 years for frame failure;
engine, engine control, display, charger: in princi-
ple 5 years for manufacturing defects and faulty
materials;
forFLYERe-bikesfromthe"Mountain"
segment: 3 years for manufacturing defects and
faultymaterials.
Thewarrantyperiodforsecond-handbikesshall
commencefromthedateonwhichtheywererst
placedonthemarket.
b.Processingofwarrantyclaims
DuringthewarrantyperiodBiketecAGshallcover
the costs of repair or replacement resulting from
the product defects specied above, provided
thatsuchworkiscarriedoutbyaFLYERdealer
recognisedbyBiketecAGaftertheFLYERe-bike
has been clearly
identied (sales receipt, completed e-bike pass
or registration if applicable). The warranty shall
remainvalidintheeventofsaletoathirdparty.
BiketecAG reserves the right to supply or con
-
struct
functionallyequivalent goodsinthe event
of the exchange of a FLYER or of components
underwarranty.
Claims made under this warranty do not extend
theoriginalperiod.Thesamerestrictionsonthe
warrantyassetforthinclause1shallapply.
22. Inspectionplan
After the rst 200 ridden kilometres or after 4
months:
