dicator that the service life of the com-
ponent has been exceeded and that it
should
bereplaced.
21. General
warranty
21.1 Dealer'swarranty
End customers shall be entitled to exercise the
standard warranty claims against the FLYER
Dealer (depending upon the agreement or appli-
cable
law;asaruletwoyearsafterdelivery).
For batteries a residual capacity after two years of
60%oftheoriginalratedcapacityisguaranteed,
provided that the battery has been operated and
charged in accordance with the operating instruc
-
tions.
The
wear and tear of consumable parts (e.g.
tyres, inner tubes, chains, sprockets, brake pads,
paintwork,labels)isnotcoveredbythewarranty.
The end customer shall be responsible for ensur
-
ing
thattheFLYERe-bikeisregularlymaintained
and cared for (including the conduct of all inspec-
tions
accordingtotheoperatinginstructions).
Warranty claims shall also be excluded in the
event that the FLYER e-bike is modied or re-
paired independently or used other than for its
intended purpose: racing and competition, com-
mercial usage, overloading and other use that
does
notreecttheintendedpurpose.
21.2 Manufacturer'sguarantee
ofBiketecAG
a. Warranties
Independently of the warranty rights towards
FLYERdealers,BiketecAGprovidesthefollowing
warranty services to the end customer voluntarily
from the date of purchase for new, fully assembled
FLYERe-bikesforwhichnalassemblyandcali
-
bration
arecarriedoutbyaFLYERdealerrecog-
nised
byBiketecAG:
Frame: 10 years for frame failure;
engine, engine control, display, charger: in princi-
ple 5 years for manufacturing defects and faulty
materials;
forFLYERe-bikesfromthe"Mountain"
segment: 3 years for manufacturing defects and
faultymaterials.
Thewarrantyperiodforsecond-handbikesshall
commencefromthedateonwhichtheywererst
placedonthemarket.
b.Processingofwarrantyclaims
DuringthewarrantyperiodBiketecAGshallcover
the costs of repair or replacement resulting from
the product defects specied above, provided
thatsuchworkiscarriedoutbyaFLYERdealer
recognisedbyBiketecAGaftertheFLYERe-bike
has been clearly
identied (sales receipt, completed e-bike pass
or registration if applicable). The warranty shall
remainvalidintheeventofsaletoathirdparty.
BiketecAG reserves the right to supply or con
-
struct
functionallyequivalent goodsinthe event
of the exchange of a FLYER or of components
underwarranty.
Claims made under this warranty do not extend
theoriginalperiod.Thesamerestrictionsonthe
warrantyassetforthinclause1shallapply.
22. Inspectionplan
After the rst 200 ridden kilometres or after 4
months:

Checkthermattachmentofallscrews,nuts
andquick-releasefasteners
Check the wheels and centre them as
required
Check the tyres
Checkthefasteningtorqueonallparts
Adjusttheheadset
Check the brake lines and shifter cables
Checkthegearsystemandadjustifneces

Checkthebrakesandadjustifnecessary
Sufcientlubricationofallcomponents
Checkthesuspensionelementsandadjustif
necessary
FLYER rider
Duringyoure-bike'srstinspectionbytheFLYER
specialist retailer, ask them to explain the correct
processes for cleaning and oiling the chain after
rain and checking components for function or dam
-
age.
Before
eachride–FLYERrider
Check the correct position of the bell
Check the function of the brakes
Check the function of the gear system
Areallquick-releasefasteners,quick-release
axles, screws and nuts completely closed and
fastened?
Check that the tyre pressure is correct
Check the wheels for true running and dam
-
age as well as safe attachment and correct
fastening
Check that the handlebars, stem, seat post
