• The emergency stop system is to be installed according to the relevant rules
of the technology (e.g. European standards EN 60204, EN 418 and related)
• The emergency stop system must safely disconnect the supply from Control
• One possibility of using the emergency stop system is the installaon of an
emergency stop device, as it is included in the scope of delivery in some
Panda packages. This device is installed between Panda’s Control and the
power supply.
Emergency Stop Device
• Should you wish to connect an external protecve device (such as, for exam-
ple, a protecve screen with access monitoring), then instead of the external
acvaon device at X3, connect this as shown in the following secon
• Should the acvaon signal be interrupted during automac operaon this will
lead to an immediate stop of the Arm (it will then go into “monitored stop”)
Protecve devices
• In this process, ensure that the power switch at the Control is switched o
(posion 0)
• Insert the Emergency Stop device with the cold-device plug rst into
the Control and then connect the Control with the power supply
(100-240V/47-63Hz frequency)
Safety devices need to be checked for proper funconing before inial opera-
on and aer at regular intervals.

If Franka Emika’s emergency stop device (#78456374) is used to take the pow-
er from the system (e.g. to do installaon work within the Safety Area), always
check in addion that the fail-safe safety locking system is acvated (the Arm
can be slightly moved within the safety bolts by sensive moons), or discon-
nect the connecon cable between the Arm and the Control.
