Connecting an external monitor
An analog monitor is co nnected to the analog external monitor port (VGA), a digital
monitor to the Display Port or to the DVI-D monitor po rt on the optional port replicator.
The display output is limited to a maximum of two monitors at any one time (see "
Key
comb inations", Page 26, section "Toggle display output").

► Switch off the notebook a nd the external monitor.
► Plug the data cable of the external monitor into the monitor port.
► First switch on the external monitor and then the notebook.
You can also switch back and forth between the external monitor and the LCD
screen of the note book, see chapter "
Key combinations", Page 26.
You c an display the same picture on the external monitor and the
notebook LCD screen simultaneously.
If you wish to operate the screen via a DVI port, use the port replicator
which is available as an option for your no tebook.
