Security functions
Trusted Platform Module (TPM) (device-dependent)

To use the TPM, you must activate the TPM in the BIOS Setup before the software
is installed. The condition for this is that you have assigned at least the supervisor
HDD password (see "
Secu rity functions" , Page 51).
Enabling TPM
Requirement: You have set a s upervisor HDD passw ord, see "Security function s", Page 51.
Call up the BIOS S etup an
d select the Sec urity menu.
Mark the TPM Security Chip Setting eld a nd press the Enter key.
Select Enabled to acti
vate the TPM.
Once you have a ctivated the TPM the Clear S ecurity Chip option appears.
Select Clear Securit
yChipto delete the h older in th e TPM. By clicking o n Enabled,
all secret k eys (e.g
. SRK - Storage Root Keys, A IK - Attestation Identity Keys
etc.) generated by
applications are deleted.
Please note that yo
u will then no longer be able to access the d ata you have
encrypted with th
e keys based on that holder.
Select the Exit Sa
ving Changes option in the Exit menu.
Press the Enter k ey and select Yes.
The notebook wil
l r esta rt, and TPM will be enabled after the reboot.
Disabling TPM
Requirement: You have set a s upervisor HDD passw ord, see "Security function s", Page 51.
Call up the BIOS S etup and select the Sec urity menu.
Mark the TPM Security Chip Setting eld a nd press the Enter key.
Select Disabled to deactivate the TPM.
Fr om the Exit menu, choose the option Exit Saving Changes.
Press the Enter k ey and select Yes.
Your notebook will now restart and TPM will be disabled.
