Using the Security Lock
Your device comes with a S e curity Lock mechanism for the Kensington Lock Cable. You
can use the Kensington Lock Cable, a sturdy steel cable, to help protect your n otebook
from theft. T he K ensington Lock Cable is available as an accessory.
Fujitsu recommends the use of a combination lock.
Fit the Kensington Lock Cable to the
mechanism on your notebook.

Attach another Kensington Lock Cable to your port replicator to protect
your port replicator from the ft as well.

Before using the various options for password protection in the BIOS Setup
Utility, please proceed as follows to increase data security:
Make a note of the passwords and keep them in a safe pla ce. If you forget your
supervisor password you will not be able to access your notebook. Passwords are
not covered by your warranty and a charge will be made for assistance.
Password protection
You r password can be up to 32 characters long and can c onta in letters, nu m bers and
special characters. A distinction is made between upper and lower case.
When usin g special characters, please note that these are dependen t on
the country-specic variant of the keyboard used.
