During mobile use, the note book runs on its bu ilt-i n battery. You can i ncrease the life of th e battery
by caring for the battery properly. The average battery life is around 800 charge/discharge cycles.
You can extend the batte ry life by taking advantage of the available energy saving functions.
Charging, caring for an d m aintaining the battery

The notebook battery can only be charge d when the ambient temperature is
between 5°C / 41°F and max. 35°C / 95°F.
You c an charge the battery by con necting the notebook to the mains adapter
(see "
Mains adapter connecting", Page 18).
If the mains adapter is connected when the state of charge of the battery is more than 90 %,
charging will not b e started. When the sta te of charge of the battery is less than 90%, the
battery will be charged to 100 % as soon as the mains adapter is connected.
If the battery is running low you will hear a warning alarm. If you do not connect the mains adapter
within five minutes of the wa rning alarm described above, you r notebook will automatically switch off.

Windows also has a "Battery status meter" in the taskbar for mo nitoring the battery capacity. When
you place the mouse pointer on the battery symbol, the system displays the battery status.

Keep the battery pack in a dry environment at between 0°C / 32°F and 30°C / 86°F. The lower
the temperature at which the batteries are stored, the lower the r ate of self-discha rge.
If you will be storing batteries for a longer period (longer than tw o months),
the battery charge level should be approx. 30 %. To prevent exh aust ive
discharge which wo uld perma nently damage the battery, check the level
of charge of the battery at regular intervals.
To be able to make use of the optimal charging capacity of the batte ries, the battery
should be completely discharged and then fully recharged.
If you do not use the batteries for long periods, r emove the m from the
notebook. N ever store the batteries in the device.
Removing and installing the battery
Only use
batteries approved by Fujitsu for your notebook.
Never u
se force when fitting or removing a battery.
Make su
re that n o foreign bodies get into the battery connections.
Never
store a battery for long periods in the discharged state . This
can ma
ke it impossible to recharge.
