ThisoptionallowsyoutoconfigurespecificparametersforeachSCSIdeviceonthe
SCSIbus.ToconfigureaSCSIdevice,youmustknowtheSCSIIDassignedtoit.
・ InitiateSyncNegotiation
Usingthisoptionallowsyoutodeterminewhethertoinitiatesynchronousdata
transfernegotiation(Syncnegotiation)betweentheSCSIdeviceandthiscard
usingthiscard.Thedefaultsettingis「yes」.
SyncnegotiationisaSCSIfunctionthatallowsthiscardandthedevice
connectedtothiscardtotransferdatainsynchronousmode.Thesynchronous
datatransferrateishigherthantheasynchronousdatatransferrate.
WhentheSCSIdeviceinitiatesthisfunction,thiscardalwaysrespondsto
SyncNegotiation.IfthiscardandtheSCSIdevicedonotinitiateSync
negotiation,dataistransferredasynchronously.
SincemostSCSIdevicessupporttheSyncNegotiationfunction,andthuscan
transferdataataratehigherthanasynchronousdatatransferrate,youshould
usuallyleavethisSyncNegotiationStartsettingsetto「yes」.
Note
SomeoldtypesofSCSI-1devicesdonotsupportSyncNegotiation.IfSync
NegotiationStartissetto「yes」inthissituation,yourcomputermighthang
ormalfunction.ForsucholdtypesofSCSI-1devices,setSyncNegotiation
Startto「no」.
