3.2 Overview
The base plate insert, is provided to separation of the electrical cables and the water hoses as
they pass through the building floor as required by NEC (National Electrical Code) or other local
code requirements. Installation of this insert requires coordination with the electrical contractor to
determine the length of the 6” threaded NPT (National Pipe Thread) conduit that will be required
to connect between the insert and the contractor supplied conduit.

3.4 Procedure
1.
Verify floor cable opening is drilled to a size of 9” (225 mm).
2. Attach contractor supplied 6” conduits to the base plate insert. Refer to Illustration 1-3 or
Illustration 1-4.
3. Place insert into cable opening.
4. Connect vertical conduit to floor conduit (contractor supplied hardware).
