Method guide
Pre-programmed runs
Genevac HT series II evaporators are pre-programmed with a number of evaporation
methods (runs) located at 51 to 60 of the SELECT RUN screen. The following table is a
guide to selecting the most suitable pre-programmed run. Runs 61 through to 98 are
associated, each run having a venting procedure linked to the end of the evaporation
process which helps to remove residual vapours from the chamber.
Note: Runs 99 and 100 are reserved for use by Genevac service engineers.
Each of the listed runs is designed to work for a group of solvents. Please bear in mind it is
usually possible to further optimise methods for specific solvents.
Ethyl acetate or
methanol
Single volatile solvents with no risk of
bumping
DCM (methylene
chloride) or
chloroform
Volatile solvent mixtures, and DCM
(Methylene chloride), where risk of bumping
is high
Medium BP solvent or mixture of medium
BP solvents
DMF & DCM
(methylene chloride)
Mixtures of medium and volatile solvents
with high risk of bumping
Pre-heat
chamber for
high BP
solvents
No solvents should
be present
Rapid pre-heat of chamber before a high BP
solvent run, swings and samples must be
removed before this method is used.
Water & acetonitrile
or methanol
Drying samples, which have not been fully
dried using another method. The condenser
must be empty before this method is used
