10. Maintenance and care
The complete jaw mechanism must be maintained regularly.
10.1 To clean or change the jaws
10.1.1 PH 2-VK
Disconnect the tool from the compressed air supply.
Detach spent mandrel container Item 10.
Remove end screw Item 6a with reset piston Item 3a as well as compression spring Item
19 and jaw pusher Item 8a.
Remove jaws Item 13, clean and oil sliding surfaces; replace if worn.
Install in reverse order of removal.
10.1.2 PH 1, PH 2, PH-Axial
Disconnect the tool from the compressed air supply.
Unscrew steel head sleeve Item 7 (PH 1, PH 2) or Item 20 (PH-Axial) and clean inside if
necessary.
Release jaw housing Item 3 (PH 1, PH 2) or Item 26 (PH-Axial).
Release jaws Item 4 (PH 1, PH 2) or Item 22 (PH-Axial), clean and oil sliding surfaces;
replace if worn.
Install in reverse order of removal.
10.2 Storage
Store the blind rivet setting tool in a dry place where there is no danger of frost.
Regular maintenance will extend the service life of your high-quality GESIPA
®
tools and they should be serviced at least every 2 years by an authorised
workshop or by GESIPA
®
Service. We recommend servicing tools that are
subject to intensive use ahead of schedule.
