2.3.1 Process selection
Several different items of equipment can be connected to the
control unit for programming, monitoring and documenting the
disinfection processes.
The operator communicates with the control unit via a control panel
or an ordinary PC.
All operator panels can be used to monitor the processes, since
they display all the set parameter values as well as actual values
on request.
Programs, system definitions and process data can be
documented by connecting a printer to the unit.
The computer contains programs for calibration of the temperature
and pressure sensors. Where alternative correction constants are
known, they can be entered manually. The testing functions
include means of activating analog and digital outputs and for
reading analog and digital inputs.
2.3.2 Control system
The machine is run and monitored by the control system PACS
350. Through a number of temperature and pressure sensors, the
machine’s software controls the selected process and ensures that
each program runs correctly. If a process for any reason is not
correctly carried out, an alarm will be activated and an error
message will provide information about the cause of the error.
Operators and service personnel communicate with the control unit
through the machine’s control panel. The service personnel can
also communicate through a PC connected to the control unit. The
process is controlled and monitored through the control panel by
using a set of buttons. It is also controlled and monitored through
information presented on the panel display.
Programs, parameters and process data can be documented by
connecting a printer to the unit.
The unit’s software contains programs for calibrating analog
sensors and for monitoring dosage, which means that calibration
can be done without connecting a PC to the unit.
The unit’s service program includes functions that assist in
activating analog and digital outputs and for monitoring analog and
digital inputs.
