  If the blast spray pattern is sputtering or irregular, several factors could be responsible. First, ensure that your air compressor meets the minimum flow requirements and that the air inlet pressure gauge reads between 100-150 psi. Clean or replace the air inlet filters if needed. Also, verify that the blast hose was properly cleaned after previous use and that the abrasive metering valve setting is appropriate for the blast pressure and abrasive type. Ensure the pot has enough abrasive. Check the nozzle for blockages, buildup, or damage and replace if necessary. Inspect the pot and abrasive hose for obstructions, and close the fill/flush valve if it's open.

  If the pot pressure relief valve is discharging water, first adjust the water pressure regulator to 185 psi (12.75 bar, 1.275 MPa). If this adjustment is not possible, service the water pressure regulator. If weeping occurs at or below 185 psi (12.75 bar, 1.275 MPa), replace the pressure relief valve.

  If blasting occurs even when the blast control switch is not engaged, the air supply might be inadequate. Ensure the air compressor meets the minimum air flow requirements and the air inlet pressure gauge reads 100-150 psi. The main air regulator could also be malfunctioning or stuck open. Finally, the pneumatic blast control circuit may be malfunctioning. Check for proper spool valve actuation in the 4-way valve when the blast control switch is actuated. Inspect the twin-line hose for damage or crimping and check the pneumatic blast control filter. If these are clean, replace the pneumatic blast control switch. Ensure the yellow tubing inside the control box is properly connected and free of obstructions. If all the above items are functional, replace the 4-way solenoid valve.

  If too much dust occurs during blasting, it could be due to insufficient water in the abrasive mixture. You can use a coarser media to resolve this. Alternatively, the blast pressure might be too high, so decrease the blast pressure and re-evaluate the dust level.

How to fix heavy blast hose recoil in Graco EcoQuip 2 EQp Industrial Equipment?

  If the blast hose recoils heavily when the blast control switch is engaged and large slugs of abrasive and water are ejected from the nozzle, it could be that the abrasive ball valve was left open during shut down. Also, the abrasive ball valve or the pinch hose could be worn. With the pot pressurized and the abrasive ball valve open, check to make sure the pump is stalled. If the pump rod is cycling, replace the pinch hose. Finally, ensure the fill/flush valve is closed.

  If there is no blast air flow when the blast control switch is engaged, but the water pump does cycle, adjust the blast regulator to the desired pressure while the blast control is engaged. Also, ensure the tubing to the main air regulator is properly connected and check for air leaks in the fittings or tubing. Clean or replace the adjustable blast air regulator if it is malfunctioning. Disassemble the main air regulator and inspect components, replacing or repairing parts as necessary.

  If too much water is coming from the nozzle in BLAST mode, the abrasive material may be too coarse. If possible, use at least a 40 mesh abrasive material. Otherwise, decrease the CPM set point until the pattern improves. The abrasive metering valve setting may also be too high for the blast pressure and/or abrasive type. Finally, ensure the fill/flush valve is closed.

  If little or no water is flowing from the nozzle in WASH mode, the wash down line may be clogged with media or other debris. Remove the wash down line and clear any obstructions. Also, check for obstructions in the blast outlet manifold.
