x Pull the return lever towards yourself and move
the last slice clamp away from the blade.
x Keep the return lever pulled and use your thumb
to lower the lock so that the return lever and the
lock engage.
x Swivel up the last slice clamp.
x Put the food to be sliced in and use the guide rail
to fix it in place.
x Lower the last slice clamp.
x If the food to be sliced is long, place the last slice
clamp on the food. If the food is short (shorter
than 230 mm), place the last slice clamp behind
the food.
x Switch on the machine.
x Pull the carriage towards yourself if the display
has not been released yet, i.e. you can only see
the GRAEF logo.
x Select the programme.
x Open the stop with the slicing thickness control
(the slice thickness can be read off at the display).
x Slicing now proceeds like on a manual machine;
in other words, press the food gently against the
stop and push the carriage towards the blade.
CAUTION!
The carriage is supported by a servo-drive as soon as
you push it towards the blade.
IMPORTANT!
You must move the T handle back to the vertical position for automatic operation.
The latching lever of the carriage must engage in the coupling on the carriage
drive system belt.
The carriage is connected properly to the carriage drive system once it can no
longer be moved by hand.
If you press the yellow start button for the fully automatic slicing process even though
the carriage is not fully engaged, the following will happen:
x The carriage drive only moves a short distance.
x The yellow button begins to flash.
x Beeps draw attention to the “incorrect position“ of the T handle.
