3. PREPARING TO OPERATE THE SCANNER
Connecting the scanner via an IEEE 1394 interface
(1) Ensure that you have an IEEE 1394 interface cable that works with your computer.
Plug the IEEE 1394 interface cable (6-pin) into the IEEE 1394 connector socket situated
on the right-hand side of the scanner unit.

Connecting the scanner via an Ethernet interface
(1) Ensure that you have an Ethernet cable that works with your computer.
Plug the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet connector located on the right-hand side of
the scanner unit.
