8. Check wheel hubs for rotation.
If there is only slight rotation, stop
engine, reinstall wheels and lower unit
to ground.
If there is excessive rotation, repeat
steps 1 – 8.
ADJUST STEERING LEVERS
Align Steering Levers
If there is more than 3.2 mm (1/8") between
the horizontal alignment of the steering
levers, align the levers.
1. Stop engine, remove key and wait for all
moving parts to stop and for hot parts to
cool.
2. Engage parking brake.
3. Loosen mounting hardware, align levers
and tighten hardware. See Figure 38.
4. Check alignment. If more adjustment is
needed, continue to step 5.
5. Pull seat latch and rotate seat forward.
6. Disconnect the steering linkage from the
transaxle control lever. See Figure 33.
7. Loosen hardware retaining eccentric
spacer and turn spacer until the levers
align. Tighten hardware. See Figure 39.
8. Loosen jam nut above the tie rod.
9. Turn the tie rod until the ball joint aligns
with the transaxle control lever. See
Figure 35.
10. Reconnect the steering linkage to the
transaxle control lever with original
hardware and tighten jam nut against the
tie rod.
Adjust Forward Position
The steering lever forward position may be
adjusted for operator comfort.
See Figure 38.
1. Stop engine, remove key and wait for
moving parts to stop and for hot parts to
cool.
2. Loosen mounting hardware on steering
lever assemblies.
3. Place steering levers in desired position:
Gently push levers forward for greater
distance from operator.
Gently pull levers back for closer
distance to operator.
4. Tighten hardware.
NOTICE: The steering levers should not
touch each other. There should be no more
than 3.2 mm (1/8") difference between the
horizontal and vertical alignment of the
levers.
