The Gardner test protocol serves to evaluate
the maximum walking distance of peripheral
arterial disease patients with intermittent
claudication.
The test is to be performed under constant
supervision of a doctor. A fall prevention system
(e.g. safety arch with chest belt system) is to be
used.
The patient first stands on the side footboards
of the running machine and not on the belt.
Start test profile 11 and the belt speeds up to
3.2 km/h. As the patient steps onto the running
belt, the doctor presses the START key again.
By pressing the START key the second time,
the displays will be reset to zero.
After completing the test, the results can be
printed on a host printer if connected.
Tests no. 12 - 20 are reserved for the following extensions and updates.
Tests no. 21 - 28 are freely definable user profiles with maximum 40 program steps (not scaleable). See next chapter.
