Interferences
5. Add 15 drops of
Alkaline-Cyanide
Reagent Solution to each
cell. Cap and invert
gently to mix.
A cloudy solution may
form. The turbidity
should dissipate
after step 6.
6. Add 21 drops of PAN
Indicator Solution, 0.1%,
to each sample cell. Cap
and invert gently to mix.
An orange color will
develop in the sample if
manganese is present.
7. Touch the timer icon.
Touch
OK.
A two-minute reaction
period will begin.
8. When the timer
beeps, wipe the blank
and place it into the cell
holder.
9. Touch Zero.
The display will show:
0.000 mg/L Mn
10. Wipe the prepared
sample and place it into
the cell holder.
11. Touch. Read.
Results will appear in
mg/L Mn.
