Subject to change without notice
Now push button
d
below the symbol > and move the cursor
2 positions to the right. Turn the knob softly clockwise until you
get this display:
FR: 102.0000000 kHz
-val+ <cur>
Now move the cursor one position to the right and use the knob
to enter 5. Then move the cursor again one position to the
right and enter 6. This will yield the desired display:
FR: 102.5600000 kHz
-val+ <cur>
If the cursor as in this example is positioned below
the 1/100
th
digit turning the knob will increment
HINT
resp. decrement the value in 1/100
th
steps.
This allows to change values quite fast. The value is always in-
uenced in the digit above the cursor. So if the cursor should be
positioned below the 3
rd
digit left of the decimal point the value
would be incremented resp. decremented in 100 kHz steps. The
knob
is hence well suited to enter or change values quickly,
any entry will be effective immediately.

Structure of the menus and functions
Survey of the basic menu
After switching on and the self test the basic menu will appear
showing the last instrument set-up before switching off. The
basic menu shows the selected frequency. Also the basic
functions Sin (sine),Tri (triangle) and Sqr (square wave) can be
selected here. In order to get to the functions: positive sawtooth,
negative sawtooth, spectrum the arrow is used. Once in any
of the menus + Rmp, –Rmp, Spc the basic functions sine, triangle
and square wave are accessible using the backspace arrow .
The functions are selected via the group of pushbuttons
.
The function selected (Sin, Tri, Sqr, +Rmp, –Rmp) is marked with
a triangle. Selecting the function Spc a further menu is entered,
here 4 K arbitrary oder 16 K arbitrary signals and white or pink
noise are available.
STOP
In main menu 1 the operating mode (working mode)
will be Tr (trigger) or Gt (gated) instead of Fr (free
run).
Function menu and function pushbuttons
The set of function pushbuttons allows to select frequency,
[FREQ], amplitude [AMPL], Sweep [SWP], and offset [OFFS] by
pushing the appropriate button. Repeated pushing a button will
cause leaving the function menu. Parameters are entered by the
procedure described in chapter ”How to enter parameters“
1. While in any of the menus FREQ, AMPL, OFFS
pushing the button [MENU] will cause a jump to
main menu 1.
2. Pushing any of the function pushbuttons while in
another menu this menu will be left and the
HINT
function called.
STOP
Exit from the menu SWP is only possible by pres-
sing the [SWP] button again.
Frequency
After pressing the button [FREQ] the signal frequency can be
selected via the keyboard or the knob.
Amplitude
After pressing the button [AMPL] the signal amplitude can be
selected via the keyboard or the knob. The amplitude indicated
on the display is valid only for no load on the output; if a 50
ohm load is connected the actual amplitude will be half of the
displayed value!
