If you are adding an MS1000 Control System to an existing Hanwell EMS system, please check
the following:
10.1 Hardware
The EMS Architect2 Controller must be the four socket build. This build has four mini-DIN
sockets on the back panel: RX, RX2, MS and SERIAL. Architect2 Controller Control Units which
only have two sockets (RX and SERIAL) should be upgraded.
The EMS Architect2 Controller will require a custom firmware ROM. A User Requirement
Specification (URS) must be drawn up and supplied to Hanwell Instruments before the
MS1000 system is commissioned.
This document details the custom operation of the supplied Hanwell MS1000 system. The
custom operation is held in a firmware ROM fitted to the CR-1 (Architect2 Controller) <<??>>
PCB. This PCB is either in a separate Control Unit or mounted within the MS1000 depending
on the exact system supplied.
10.2 Software
The Hanwell EMS software must be Version <<??>> or later. We recommend upgrading to the
final version of EMS (Version <<??>>). To check the current software version number:
1. Run the Hanwell EMS software.
2. Click on the Help menu (not the Help button).
3. Select About.
The current software version number is displayed.
10.2.1 Wiring
Hard-wiring will need to be run from the Architect2 <<??>>.
