7 Applications
7.1 Example 1: Load cell with tensile/compressive
loading
Load cell
• Resistance: 350 Ω
• Full bridge: Six‐wire configuration
• Sensitivity 3mV/V
Configuration (‐3 mV/V for ‐10 V (4 mA) and 3 mV/V for 10 V (20 mA))
• Set OUTPUT switch to +/- 10V.
• Set 4 WIRE/6 WIRE switch to six‐wire configuration.
• Set EXCITATION switch to supply voltage 10V (factory setting).
• Set GAIN switch to position 3:
G
10
Sensitivity Supplyvoltage
• Set ZERO switch to position 2 (zero = 0.035mV/V).
• 3 Hz bandwidth (factory setting).
Adjustment
• Relieve the transducer.
• Adjust with Zero on the front to 0V (12mA) with a voltmeter (amperemeter),
if the zero point is unstable, then change the zero point setting ZERO to
position 3 and adjust Zero again.
• Load the transducer with the required full scale.
• Adjust the Gain on the front to 10V (20mA) with a voltmeter
(amperemeter).
• Check the zero point adjustment again.
• The measurement chain is now adjusted and ready for operation.
Alternative setting
For 0 … 10V (4 … 20mA) output:
• Set OUTPUT switch to position 0/10V (factory setting).
• Set 4 WIRE/6 WIRE switch to six‐wire configuration.
• Set EXCITATION switch to supply voltage 10V (factory setting).
• Set GAIN switch to position 2:
