8.4.1 Preparation tasks for maintenance
1. Turn off pump or system and protect against restart.
ü If the pump is submerged in the sump:
2. Remove the pump from the sump with suitable lifting gear.
3. Hose down pump with water.
4. Position the pump in a vertical position on a surface and attach lifting
gear on the drive unit to prevent it from tipping.
8.4.2 Visual inspection
8.4.2.1 Pump and motor

1. Check the pump for mechanical damage.
