The instrument will display an error if a malfunction is found during the self-test when the instrument is turned
on or if it is unable to accept key input for some reason.

Contact your authorized Hioki distributor or reseller if a repair should become necessary.
6.2 Error Indication
If the measurement lines are energized when the instrument is turned on, the instrument may
be damaged or an error message may appear, so before energizing the lines, turn the instru-
ment on and confirm that no error message is displayed.
Error display Description Cause and Remedy
ROM error
The instrument needs to be repaired.
(Circuit failure)
SDRAM error
Control circuit error
Buffer data error
Pressing any key will cause the instrument to switch to the mea-
surement display after performing a system reset. If this error oc-
curs frequently, the instrument will need to be repaired. The circuit
used to save settings may be damaged.
Invalid key input
(displayed for approx. 1 sec.)
This error is displayed when key and external control are mixed
during integration.
Invalid key input
(displayed for approx. 1 sec.)
This error is displayed when an invalid operation is attempted dur-
ing integration.
Example: Range switching

(displayed for approx. 1 sec.)
This error is displayed when the user attempts to start integration
while an S.Err event has occurred.
Invalid key input
(displayed for approx. 1 sec.)
This error is displayed when the user attempts to start integration
after the integration limit (integration time, integrated value) has
been reached.
Invalid key input
(displayed for approx. 1 sec.)
This error is displayed when a data reset is performed during inte-
gration.
Invalid key input
(displayed for approx. 1 sec.)
This error is displayed when an invalid operation is performed
while the HOLD/MAX/MIN display is active.
Degaussing/zero-adjustment
failure
(displayed for approx. 1 sec.)
This error is displayed when input exceeds the degaussing or
zero-adjustment range.

Synchronization loss
This error is displayed when no external signal is received while
the instrument has been set as the slave with the external syn-
chronization function.
