HYDRAULIC BRAKE

REAR MASTER CYLINDER
REMOVAL
Remove the battery tray (page 17-6).
Drain the brake fluid from the hydraulic system.
– XL700V (page 15-7)
– XL700VA (page 15-11)
Remove the brake hose oil bolt, sealing washers
and brake hose.
Remove the bolt and rear master cylinder assembly.
Remove the swingarm pivot covers.
Remove the swingarm pivot nut and step holder
bolt.
• Push the swingarm pivot bolt into the frame, do
not remove it.
When removing the
oil bolt, cover the
end of the hose to
prevent
contamination.
