2.3.3.1 Antenna
Either a 10-inch or 12-inch flat plate antenna must be attached to the radar receiver-transmitter.
See figures 2-33, 2-34, 2-35, and 2-36.
A vertically polarized antenna will give the best radar performance. However, clearance restric-
tions in specific applications may necessitate the use of one of the other antenna options. See
figures 2-29, and 2-30, ART 2000 Outline and Mounting Drawing.
The ART 2000 is shipped with a cover plate over the port opening on the microwave assembly.
This cover plate must be removed and discarded. A 9/64" ball end Allen driver is needed for in-
stallation and removal of the antenna on all ART’s. Proceed as follows to install the antenna.
NOTE
:
Before installing the ART 2000 antenna (071-01519-
0101), a sticker on the radar’s microwave assembly
must be removed. Once this sticker is been removed
the surface must be cleaned. Cleaning must be done
with Isopropyl alcohol and a cotton cloth to insure
that all adhesive is removed from the radar’s micro-
wave assembly. Caution must be given not to allow
debris to enter the microwave assembly cavity. This
cleaning process must be followed every time the
protective sticker is removed and just before installa-
tion of the antenna.
