m. Press the left arrow key once to move the cursor to the next measurement to the left of the
fundamental peak. The 8500C/C+ readout changes to show the frequency 548.1 Hz
(32884 RPM) and amplitude at this point. Write down this amplitude in Column B. Press
the left arrow key once more, and write down the next amplitude in Column A.
n. Press the right arrow key to move the cursor to the 2 closest amplitudes to the right of the
fundamental peak, and write down these amplitudes in Columns D and E.
o. Fill in amplitude measurements for the remaining harmonic peaks in Table 5-6.
p. Calculate the true amplitude of each harmonic peak in Table 5-6 as follows, and write
down this value in the “True Amp,” column of Table 5-6.
q. The true amplitude of each harmonic peak should fall between the minimum and
maximum values listed inTable 5-6; if any are out range, refer to Section 5.6,
“Troubleshooting Guide.”
