Supported Transceivers
The following transceiver units are recommended:
HP 30241A ThickLAN Medium Attachment Unit
• compatible with IEEE 802.3 Type 10Base5 networks
HP 28685A EtherTwist Medium Attachment Unit
• compatible with IEEE 802.3 Type 10BaseT networks
HP 28683A Fiber-Optic Transceiver
• provides compatibility with IEEE 802.3 FOIRL standard
Supported LAN cables
LAN cables conforming to the IEEE 802.3 Type 10Base2 standard are approved for
connection to the ThinLAN BNC connector.
Two cables are supported for the AUI to transceiver (MAU) connection:
HP 92254E
• Thick AUI cable, terminated, 6 meters long. Outer jacket material made of PVC.
HP 92254A
• Thick AUI cable, terminated, 6 meters long. Outer jacket material made of FEP
Teflon.
