Before removing the service cover, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4.
Remove the battery (see
Battery on page 56).
Remove the service cover:
1.
Loosen the two Phillips PM2.0×5.5 screws (1) that secure the service cover to the computer.
2. Slide the service cover (2) forward to disengage the cover from the computer.
3. Remove the service cover (3) by lifting it straight up and away from the computer.
Reverse the removal procedures to install the service cover.
