Before removing the fan, follow these steps:
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Preparation for disassembly on page 37).
2. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover and rubber feet on page 38).
3. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 39).
To remove the fan:
NOTE: On select products, the size and shape of the Mylar cover may vary from the illustration.
1. Pull back the Mylar cover to access the fan (1).
2. Disconnect the fan cable from the system board (2).
3. Remove the two Phillips M2.0 × 2.0 screws (3) that secure the fan to the computer.
4. Remove the fan from the computer (4).
Reverse this procedure to install the fan.
