Removal and Replacement Procedures

To power down the server:
1. Shut down the operating system in an orderly manner as directed in the operating system
instructions.
2. If the server is on, press the power button to power down the server.
If you are unable to shut down the server normally, press and hold the power button for
more than four seconds to power down the server.
3. Be sure that the power indicator on the front panel is off and that the fan noise has
stopped.
4. Disconnect the AC power cord from the AC outlet, and then from the server.
5. Disconnect all external peripheral devices from the server.
