What causes HP StorageWorks P9000 Storage initialization to fail?
    • A
      Ann HarrisSep 14, 2025
If your HP Storage initialization fails, ensure that the primary and secondary systems are physically and correctly connected. Verify that you entered the correct remote system S/N, SSID, and path parameters, including port, link address, and logical address. Also, confirm that the Fibre Channel topology settings on the primary and secondary systems ports are correct.

What to do if HP Storage returns DATASET_ERROR_DATASET_NOT_FOUND?
    • J
      Joe HigginsAug 30, 2025
If you encounter a DATASET_ERROR_DATASET_NOT_FOUND error, verify that the actual dataset name matches the specified dataset name. To check the dataset name, you can use the MF-File list command in the FCU Help menu or the VTOC dump data on the mainframe host.

How to troubleshoot HP StorageWorks P9000 Storage Communication Failed error?
    • D
      Diana GomezAug 27, 2025
If communication fails on your HP Storage, meaning the primary system connects to the secondary system but a logical communication timeout occurs, ensure that the secondary system port and network relay devices (cables, switches) are properly configured and functioning.

What to do if I/O error of the code conversion table occurred in HP Storage?
    • M
      Mary PriceSep 18, 2025
If you encounter an I/O error with the code conversion table in HP Storage, re-execute the process after ensuring the following: * The code conversion table to customize has a readable file attribute. * The code conversion table to customize exists. * A read-only table that has the same name as the output table exists in the same directory with an attribute. * The output directory of the table is read-only.

How to resolve HP Storage PSUE S-VOL failure?
    • M
      madelinehuberSep 16, 2025
To resolve a PSUE / S-VOL Failure error on HP Storage: * Check the path status on the RCU Status dialog box. If errors occurred on the path, clear the error conditions. * Clear any error conditions at the remote system or S-VOL, then resynchronize the pair from the primary system. * If you need to access the S-VOL to clear the error conditions, release the pair from the secondary system. After you clear the error conditions, re-create the pair.

What causes FCU errors when accessing an FCU parameter definition file in HP StorageWorks P9000 Storage on Windows?
    • C
      Casey RosalesSep 1, 2025
If FCU reports errors when accessing an FCU parameter definition file on Windows systems, remove all space lines from the FCU parameter definition files. FCU versions 01-01-36 and later do not support space lines, while FCU versions 01-01-24 and earlier supported space lines when run without the GUI.

How to recover from a HP StorageWorks P9000 hardware blockade?
    • R
      Richard RosalesSep 12, 2025
If hardware redundancy has been lost due to some blockade condition, remove the hardware blockade or failure according to the SIM. Restore the failed volume pairs (Pairresync). If a failure occurs during execution of the RAID Manager horctakeover command, secondary volumes in SSWS pair status may remain in the master journal. If these volumes remain, execute the pairresync -swaps command on the secondary volumes whose pair status is SSWS. This operation changes all volumes in the master journal to primary volumes. After this operation, restore the volume pairs (Pairresync).

What to do if HP Storage pair create operation resulted in a timeout error?
    • K
      Kyle OliverAug 25, 2025
If a pair create or resync operation on your HP Storage results in a timeout error, and a SIM was generated due to a hardware failure, call HP Technical Support after the problem is solved, then retry Cnt Ac-J Z operations. If no SIM was generated, wait 5-6 minutes and check the pair status. If the status changed correctly, the operation completed after the timeout. If the status did not change, retry the operation during a lighter workload. If there is a communication error between the Remote Web Console and the SVP, consult the HP StorageWorks P9000 Remote Web Console User Guide.
