    • A
      Angela CarlsonAug 27, 2025
If you encounter a pair-port number mismatch on your HP Storage, indicating the specified port in the secondary system is physically disconnected, ensure: * You've specified the correct secondary system port, correcting if necessary. * The primary and secondary systems ports are connected with cables; connect them if they aren't. * The topology settings of ports on both systems are correct.

How to resolve HP StorageWorks P9000 Storage communication failures?
    • J
      Janet FosterSep 12, 2025
If communication between the primary and secondary systems failed because the secondary system or network relay devices were not running, remove the failure from the primary and secondary systems or the network relay devices. If necessary, increase resources as needed (for example, the amount of cache, the number of paths between primary and secondary systems, the parity groups for journal volumes, etc.). Restore the failed pairs (Pairresync).

What does path rejected mean on HP StorageWorks P9000?
    • R
      reedmarcSep 14, 2025
If you encounter a 'Path Rejected' error (MCU/RCU) on your HP Storage, start by deleting the failed path. Additionally, delete all paths and secondary systems that are not currently in use. Remember that the primary system can connect to a maximum of four secondary systems, with up to eight paths to each system. Ensure that all primary and secondary system ports are properly configured: use ordinary RCU target ports for secondary systems and initiator ports for primary systems. If necessary, connect to the secondary system to delete paths, reconfigure the ports, then reconnect to the primary system and add the path or secondary system again using Edit Path or Add RCU.

How to recover from HP StorageWorks P9000 Storage Initial Copy Failed error?
    • A
      angela63Aug 28, 2025
If the primary HP Storage system suspended a pair during the initial copy operation, indicating the data on the S-VOL isn't identical to the P-VOL (possibly due to an invalid track format), release the pair from the primary storage system. Clear all error conditions at the primary storage system, the P-VOL, the secondary storage system, and the S-VOL. Reformat failed tracks using ICKDSF, and restart the initial copy operation using the Add Pair dialog box.
