Caution:
On a mounting screw of Quidway series switches' chassis, there is an anti-dismantle seal of Huawei
Technologies Co., Ltd. The seal must be kept intact before the sales agent performs maintenance on the
switch. Users should contact local agent for permission if it is necessary to open the chassis. Otherwise,
users will bear responsibility for possible damages.
3.1 Mount a Switch
3.1.1 Rack-mount the Switch on 19-Inch Rack
A switch can be mounted in a 19-inch standard rack and the mounting procedure is
described below:
Step 1: Check grounding and stability of the cabinet. Fix the mounting braces at
both sides of the front panel of the switch with screws.
Step 2: Place the switch on a shelf in the cabinet. Depending on the actual situation,
slide the switch along the guides of the cabinet to an appropriate position. Ensure
there is proper room between the switch and the guides.
Step 3: Use screws to fix the angle irons on the fixing guides at both sides of the
cabinet. Make sure that the switch is securely fixed in the cabinet by the shelf on
each slot and the angle irons.
