7.23 Dismantling the piston and cylinder

Dismantle the:
• cylinder cover
• front handle
• carburettor
• mufer
• spark plug cap
• intake system

Remove the cylinder’s four screws.
Carefully lift away the cylinder and the gasket.
See gure 58.

Cover the crankcase opening.

Remove the circlips and press out the gudgeon
pin. Remove the piston. See gure 59.

Remove the gudgeon pin bearing (the needle bea-
ring) using a pliers. See gure 59.

Replace with a new bearing.

NOTE!
Take care to prevent any dirt and foreign
particles from entering the crankcase.
Three bond
#1322
When replacing the generator, use special tool 512
41 31-01 to x the heating coil. Also, apply three
bond #1322 (thread lock) or similar to the screws.
See gure 57B. Tightening torque 2,9 - 3,9 Nm.
