14.3 Sensor guidelines
Keep deposits off the sensor for best measurements. Examine the sensor to make sure that there
are no contaminants. Keep the substances shown in Table 11 away from the sensor.

Oil, sediment or biofilms Contaminates the sensor. If the sensor is contaminated, clean the sensor.
14.4 Maintenance
14.4.1 Clean the sensor
N O T I C E
To prevent damage to some sensors, do not use solvents that dissolve plastic to clean the sensors.
Note: It may be necessary to clean the sensor more frequently if the sensor is used in environments with sediment
(i.e., silt), mineral precipitate, biofilms, barnacles or pollutants such as oil.
1. Clean the sensor with:
Mild detergent
Non-toxic, degreasing solution, such as Simple Green
®

Makers, Inc.)
Warm water
Clean, soft toothbrush
Soft cloth and/or cotton swabs
