Although the
PFI5,
18,21,
and 24 keys indicate a choice
of
colors, there are
no color options on the 3278 Display Station. When any
of
the above
highlighting attributes are indicated and highlighting
is
available, selectability
will be shown in the Operator Information Area following the selected attribute
message,
as
follows:

is
permitted and was made
by
depressing a
Programmed Symbol key.

is
permitted and was made
by
a Field Inherit key. Or,
selection was made
by
the host program.
D operator selection was
not
permitted; selection was made by the host.
Printer Status
The Printer Status messages displayed
in
the Operator Information Area, are
used during print operations
to
tell
you
where the print operation
is
performed
and inform you
of
the progress
of
the print operation.

The
cl-CJ

message appears when
you
press the IDENT key
to
enter a new
printer assignment. When
CJ-CJ
__
appears the cursor disappears until the
IDENT key operation is completed. The
next
two numbers
you
enter appear in
the two underlined locations
of
the message. After
you
enter a valid printer ID
or class, the cursor reappears.

-Printer Assignment
This message tells
you
that
your display station
is
authorized
to
use printer num-
ber nn. Numbers
01
through
31·
identify individual printers. Numbers
70
through 85 identify "classes"
of
printers.
If
nothing is displayed in the Operator Information Area,
you
have no printer
assignment.
If
the 3278 is attached
to
a 3276 Control Unit Display Station,
you may use the IDENT procedure (see IDENT key in the keyboard section)
to
enter the printer number
of
an available printer; otherwise, you cannot print.
c::J-IIIn n - Printer Printing
This message tells you the assigned printer
is
printing your work.

-Printer Failure
This message tells
you
the selected printer failed while printing your work.

Assignment Pending
This means
that
your printer assignment has changed.

you
press the IDENT
key,
your
new printer assignment is displayed.
